Brazilian Cuties for your Tuesday

Today we are going to go very local for your Brazilian cuties! These are unknown and real Cariocas. Well, unknown to you and family to me. Yes, my Brother-in-law and his wife Maria are so very cute and stylish that they were stopped one day in Leblon and asked to take a picture for a Rio de Janeiro style site Rio Etc.

  1. Hi Rachel,
I think those are the kind of clothes people should use for work in places like Brazil, Australia, etc.
It is interesting that your in-laws seem to share a very similar nose. Is Mr Rant's nose also like that? This happens in my family with ears, how about yours?

  2. They are married, not related but I can see it now that you mention it. My husband does, however, have the same nose... as do most of the uncles. It comes out in puberty. Let's see if my kids get it too!

  3. Hi Rachel,

La Mom here -- found you on Top 25 Expat Mom Blogs. Can I just say that your bro-in-law rocks the polka dots. Frenchmen (including Big Cheese) wear pink without coming off as too feminine, but I don't think even a Parisian macho could pull off the dots.

  4. He does pull it off, doesn't he! Maybe after the French influence he got living in Montreal...

Btw, Love your blog! I've been voting for you :)

  5. Ahhh! A Canadian connection! That explains a lot!

Completely aside, is Renato's name pronounced Henato? Henatchoo? I work with a woman who was born & raised in Saõ Paolo, and when she moved to Canada as a teen she changed the spelling of her name from Renata to Henata so we would all pronounce it the way she was used to.

  6. Exactly, it is pronounced Henato! All the Rs are here basically. My 4 yr old has a terrible time with hard Rs now... :/
