Giveaway: Because I Love You All!

Because I love you all, I will be having the best giveaway ever. This giveaway comes with a quick little story of two friends. A very good friend and I have always had a contest as to who can bring back the tackiest gift from a trip abroad. She currently holds the title for bringing me a stuffed toad keychain and a kangaroo testicles bottle opener.

Anyway, I saw this and thought of her. While lovely it just doesn't beat kangaroo testicles, but it is perfect for my readers. Tacky with a touch of ridiculous all while having a logo representing Rio de Janeiro. It was love at first sight.

A Christ the Redeemer nail clipper. I mean, what home doesn't need this?! And when you think it can't get any better...

You open it and see that it is also a bottle opener. I think this is exactly what Jesus was hoping for when he turned water into wine, a nail clipper/bottle opener in honor of a statue in his honor. Doesn't get much better than this folks.

And since this such an awesomely random item, I'm giving it away to you. I feel it's small enough that I won't get totally screwed with shipping so the world is this clipper/opener's oyster. Anyone can apply to have this badboy.

I'm really excited about this company. I think it represents the beauty of Brazil in it's use of natural seeds in a creative handcrafted design.

One thing that Brazilians do well is combine nature with everyday life. Just look at Rio de Janeiro! This city is a perfect example of that.

I'm VERY excited to announce that I have another giveaway for you readers out there! The lovely owner of Spóra jewelry is giving one lucky reader one of her amazing key rings! Think class, sophistication, with a twist of nature.

"I grew up in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and I have always had a fascination with seeds. During my experimentation with jewelry design, I realized that besides being unusual and beautiful, necklaces made with seeds are also meaningful, for seeds are a symbol for birth, rebirth, and renewal. This is an important connection to make now that our environment is threatened.


I combine the seeds with more "sophisticated" and expensive material like semi-precious stones, pearls, and silver --- this  creates an interesting perspective on the idea of preciousness: it is the seeds that make spóra’s necklaces precious. 


I go to Brazil at least once a year to visit my family and to buy seeds; all my jewelry is handmade by me. It is nice to know that picking seeds is a source of income for many natives in the amazon rainforest.  I am glad I can "show off" a little bit of Brazil in my designs."

Giveaway Update

I have been checking in on the comments for my Giveaway and I am STOKED on the response! I love that everyone loves Havaianas as much as I do. Who am I kidding, is there anything better than free ones?! I don't think so.

There's still time to enter! I will be entering entries into a randomizer the 13th (ideally. I'm on Brazilian time so that may mean the 14th). The goal is to have the winner announced the 15th of March, contacted, and get the goodie mailed out that same week. Let's give a gold star for planned efficiency!
